How do I buy a ticket on WegoEvents?
Open an event page, choose a ticket tier and quantity, then pay from the checkout panel. You can pay by mobile money USSD push or by bank/manual transfer where the organizer allows it. Once payment is confirmed, your ticket appears under My Tickets with a scannable QR code.
Which payment methods does WegoEvents accept?
WegoEvents supports Tanzanian mobile money through Vodacom M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money, and Halopesa via a USSD push prompt on your phone. Organizers can also enable manual bank or mobile transfer as a fallback. Prices are shown in Tanzanian shillings (TZS) and optionally in US dollars (USD).
How much does it cost to list an event?
Browsing events and creating an account are free. Publishing an event requires a one-time listing fee, which is shown in the Add Event flow before you pay. You only pay the listing fee once per event — editing or republishing an event you already paid for is free.
How does event check-in work?
Every ticket and registration carries a unique QR code. On event day, the organizer opens the check-in scanner in the dashboard and scans each guest's code with a phone camera. Valid codes are marked as attended in real time, and duplicates are rejected automatically.
Can I create digital invitation cards on WegoEvents?
Yes. The Invitation Card Generator lets a host design a card, import a guest list, and generate a personalised card and unique invite link for every guest. Guests open the link, see their own card, and RSVP with one tap. RSVP responses update the host dashboard instantly.
How do organizers get paid?
Ticket revenue collected through WegoEvents is tracked per event in the organizer dashboard, including buyer name, tier, quantity, and amount paid. Payouts are processed to the payout details on the organizer profile after the event, subject to verification and the platform's payout schedule.
In which time zone are event dates shown?
All event dates and times on WegoEvents are stored and displayed in East Africa Time (EAT, UTC+3, Africa/Dar_es_Salaam) and labelled EAT next to the time. This applies to event pages, discovery listings, invitation cards, and organizer dashboards, so hosts and guests always see the same time.
Do I need an account to attend an event?
You need a free WegoEvents account to buy a ticket, so your tickets and QR codes are saved to My Tickets. You can register with an email address or a phone number. Browsing and searching events does not require an account.
How do I delete my account or my data?
Email privacy@wegoevents.app from the address on your account and ask for deletion. We remove your profile and personal data from active systems. Some transaction records are retained where law, tax rules, or payment processors require it. Full details are in the WegoEvents Privacy Policy.
